Death of a Friend

Dear Friends,

I am very sad to have to communicate that Morrison passed away yesterday at home in his bed. After successfully beating cancer in August, his cancer returned in September. He was such a fighter and really tried hard to beat it once again. Morrison was 12 years old.

Kylie and I brought him home when we were only 22, so he has been part of our family for a third of our lives. He was no ordinary dog…..he came everywhere with us…..to friends BBQs (invited or not), shops, restaurants, boat trips, beach (his favourite place in the world) and of course work. Every day of his life he was with people he loved and even if he barked at you each time he saw you, he always befriended our friends. The greatest guard dog that I have ever met…..so protective with a “big dog” bark but he never never bit anyone.

An unbelievable Model….so regal……

We will be writing Morrison story in its entirety over the next little while and invite you all to email your experiences with this amazing dog, which will be included in his “story”.

Missing his adorable gaze ………….

Pee Off

The first time Mademoiselle (my Pekingnese puppy) and I met Morri it was on my first business trip to Perth. Mads and I were in the office where Morri hangs out, and I was a bit unsure of how she would react as my Mads thinks she owns everything and this was definitely Morri’s territory! Well, the meeting took place in reception where both dogs calmly gave each other the normally doggy greeting, lots of sniffing. Then they parted ways and Mademoiselle left her own unmistakable mark by squatting like a lady and relieving herself on the carpet. So Morri, having had his territory defiled, went to the nearest wall, stood proud like a man, and lifted his leg!

We all just stood there in disbelief, but gave Morri a resounding round of applause for standing his ground. We then ran to get the disinfectant and paper towels to clean the area. With everything returned to normal and the stand off over, Mads and Morri continued as if nothing had happened.

First Encounter

I recently joined the Morri team and clearly remember my first encounter with Morrison.  Being a Freo girl since birth, I went into the Morrison store when it first opened and always remember talking to Morri who was sitting next to the counter in the shop.  Unfortunately, the awful part is I don’t remember Kylie or Richard, but Morri was a stand out.  Sorry boss!

Where’s my massage?

I love Morri!!! I have only just commenced employment with Morrison, and have chalked up eight days here at Head Office. My first day, as with most people, was a little hairy, in that I didn’t know what to expect and/or how I would fit in. I needn’t have worried both the team and Morri made me feel most welcome. From the time I walked in the door I sensed all would be ok. I was introduced to my co-workers and shown to my desk. I was pleasantly surprised when Kylie walked in the door followed by the gorgeous Morrison. I had only seen photos of this famous pooch, but he was even better looking in person!!

He strolled over and gave me the once over (a good sniff and eye-ball). I said hello and gave him a pat. Not content with that he promptly turned his back and stood as close as he could to me. Not knowing what he wanted, he turned his head and looked at me as if to say ‘well go on then, where’s my massage’. I realised he was serious, so I patted him, till he was satisfied I’d done my job… it’s not hard to see who the ‘BOSS’ at Morrison is!Morri has been in a few times since and every time he’s come round for his massage, along with visits to everyone else to ensure he gets his treats. I love his visits. He has an air about him, and like me everyone loves to see him.
